If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know I have a few dreams imprinted deeply on my heart. Just call me Rapunzel and watch me dance around the Snuggly Duckling, proclaiming to a band of hooligans that “I’ve got a dream.”
- The dream to visit New York City one day.
- The dream to win free Starbucks coffee for life.
- The dream to become a NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author.
These seem super far off, unlikely, or even impossible, right?
One of my mom’s favorite verses is found in Psalm 37…
Take delight in YHWH, and he will give you the desires of your heart. ~ Psalm 37:4
The truth is, I don’t always follow this verse. I mess up. I’m guilty of being too lazy. Too tired. Just…too. But you know what? That’s the beauty of our King. Because despite our infallible humanness, he loves to love us anyway. Isn’t that just like a parent? Our kids drive us nuts. They defy. They ignore. They make us want to hit our heads against walls.
But. We. Love. Them. Anyway.
Someday soon, I’ll be writing my acknowledgements for my very first published novel. But, first and foremost, I want to thank the One who brought me my happily ever after. Because this…
…this is me signing my very first publishing contract with Thomas Nelson/ HarperCollins (aka my dream publisher)!!!
While I may never be a NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author, I know one thing for certain. Even if I never make it on anyone’s list, that’s A-okay. I already made the only list that really matters–His list. Thanks, Dad!
