Plus a Tommy Nelson Giveaway!
Jerel Law has done it again in his exciting new addition to the Son of Angels Series. Shadow Chaser marks the return of Jonah, Eliza, and Jeremiah Stone, along with the rest of the Quarterlings in their greatest adventure yet!
Journey to far off places as your favorite characters continue their Angel School training. Final exams are looming as Jonah finds himself falling into one complication after another. What are the mysterious zit-like boils that have begun to pop up all over his body? Why is it every time he tries to do the right thing, Jonah just ends up making things worse for everyone? If Elohim really cares for him, then why does Jonah feel Elohim’s silence like never before?
What I liked…
I enjoyed the short, quick-paced chapters and further character development in Shadow Chaser. Jerel Law does an excellent job of creating an intriguing story arc with lots of plot twists and turns involved. The story line in Shadow Chaser is my favorite in the series so far. The characters continue to mature as they face new challenges, slipping up like any human would, which makes them feel more real. Even though this book is a middle grade fantasy, I still felt I could relate to the characters as they dealt with the everyday challenges of school exams, competition, and peer pressure. I also felt the addition of new and exotic settings in Shadow Chaser added some more depth to the story. I kept wondering where the Quarterlings would end up next!
Recommendation…
I recommend this book for middle grade readers and older who like action filled fantasy stories with underlying Biblical truths. Shadow Chaser makes a great gift for tween boys in particular. The book isn’t too long and it keeps the reader engaged up until the surprise, cliffhanger type ending.

I really liked the scene where he was kneeling on the rock with his hands out. It looked like he was praying.
