Some things never change. Girls and women of every age experience insecurity, whether they are 2 or 82. So Long, Insecurity Teen Edition by Beth Moore addresses this topic in a fun and personal way. While written for teen girls, I felt that much of the book even applied to me as an adult. From inner beauty to dealing with tough issues, So Long, Insecurity Teen Edition covers many of the problem areas that we as females face.
What I liked…
I absolutely loved the format of So Long, Insecurity Teen Edition. It looks and feels similar to popular teen magazines. It is filled with quizzes, encouraging Bible verses, answers from real girls, interviews, and even small group Bible study questions. I loved how Beth took the stories of real women from the Bible and wrote them in a way that teen girls can understand and relate to.
It’s no secret for anyone who knows me that I absolutely adore Miss Beth. She is “just darling”. Any time I have participated in one of her studies or read one of her books I have truly felt met at whatever place I am at. She has a special way of speaking to our gender and So Long, Insecurity Teen Edition is no different.
I chose to review this book, not because I currently have teen daughters, but because I will someday. My girls may be small now, but that won’t last forever. I remember Junior High and High School. I remember the mean girls and the competition and the insecure feelings. So Long, Insecurity Teen Edition will make a great addition to the small library of books I have started to collect for when my girls eventually reach their teen years.
Recommendation…
I highly, HIGHLY, recommend So Long, Insecurity Teen Edition by Beth Moore (I actually recommended it to a girlfriend of mine the other day!) It meets girls (and women) on a raw and personal level, and the fun, magazine-like format is appealing to the younger generation. Whether you have a teen daughter or, like me, will someday, I suggest grabbing a copy of this one.
