Plus Mom’s Library!
I love this time of year. The wind is blowing, coffee is brewing, and my couch is calling. There’s nothing better than curling up with a good book in the autumn and winter months. I have a whole stack to get through. Sometimes I use multiple bookmarks, not only to save my place, but also so I can mark pages I will refer back to when writing a review.
Besides a good book, I also love homemade gifts. The best projects are ones that are simple and inexpensive. Here’s one I came up with that only took me ten minutes.
Crochet and Ribbon Bookmarks
You will need:
Size 5mm crochet hook
Yarn
Scissors
Ribbon
Buttons (bigger ones with 2 larger holes work best)
First you will need to crochet a simple flower. If you don’t already know how to do this, it’s really easy (I literally learned how to yesterday). Mom of 5 Daughters has a great tutorial video on how to do a crochet flower. You will only need to watch part 1 for the purpose of this project.
Now that you have your flower, cut an 18” length of ribbon. Thread the ribbon through your button holes and then through your crochet flower. Tie a knot at the back.
That’s it! You now have a double bookmark. You can modify your ribbon length depending on the book you will use your crochet and ribbon bookmark for. If you want to get really creative, you can use two ribbons which would give you four bookmarks in one!
How about you? What are you reading this season? I love hearing from you! Until then, happy reading!
