The God Puzzle, by Valerie Ackerman, is an interactive workbook designed to teach kids ages 7-12 “how the Bible fits together to reveal God as (their) greatest treasure”. In a culture today where media and television dominate our homes, The God Puzzle  motivates kids to get excited about studying the Word. I don’t know about you, but more than anything I desire for my children to know their Creator intimately through the study and understanding of His Word.

What I liked…

As a busy homeschooling mom, I prefer a curriculum that allows me to spend my time teaching rather than preparing. With The God Puzzle, parents are given the unique opportunity to dive right in and interact with their children. I also appreciated that The God Puzzle allows you to set your own pace. Spend as little or as much time as you need on each subject. The truth is that understanding and knowing His Word takes time—there’s no need to rush or to feel like you are under a deadline, as with some curriculums.

What else is great about The God Puzzle? It’s fun! I have been homeschooling for three years now and have struggled to find a Bible curriculum that doesn’t have us falling asleep. The Bible is rich and exciting so why are so many Bible teaching materials the opposite of that? With The God Puzzle, kids will learn truths through crosswords, word searches, decoding and many other fun “puzzle-like” games. Your kids won’t know they are learning because they will be having so much fun! I am really looking forward to implementing The God Puzzle into our second grade curriculum line up next fall.
