Bible Stories that end with a hug!

I’m a hugger. I love giving hugs and I love getting hugs. There’s nothing better than when your child runs up to you, jumps into your arms and squeezes the life out of you. Or what about when your baby makes the transition from simply  letting you cuddle her to actually returning the cuddle back? Hugs say “I love you” and so much more!

That’s why I love our new book from Tyndale entitled  Bible Stories that end with  a hug! This fun-loving, interactive book was created by LullaBible author Stephen Elkins, and is splashed with colorful illustrations by Simon Taylor-Kielty. The child friendly stories are short and easy to understand, and the illustrations are sweet and remind me of Precious Moments characters.

          Each story contains a related verse and Bible reference. What I particularly like is that the stories are short and easy to remember, which is great since each one has questions at the end that even the youngest listener could answer. Elkins writes in a way that makes the Bible fun and interesting for little ones, while still retaining the moral values and lessons at the heart of each story. From Rebekah we learn kindness. From Miriam, faithfulness. And from Hannah, patience. These are the little lessons of life that are important for children to learn early, and learning them from Bible characters is a great way to introduce the importance of reading God’s Word.
          My girls love looking at this book together. Noelle tells Madi all about the pictures, and the best part? Each story ends with a hug! Noelle anticipates this moment each time when she can hug her sister and express her love in this way. Like mother like daughter; Noelle loves to hug!
          This book would make a great gift for any child on your Valentine’s Day list. It’s great for a quick bedtime story or even for older siblings to read to younger ones. I recommend it simply for the “hug factor” at the end of each tale.
