Review and Giveaway!
This book “has surely been outlawed by now. To hold it is a crime. To read it is worse.” Evan Angler, Storm
It’s finally here! The book I have been waiting to read for months and months!
The Dust are in a race against time in Evan Angler’s third installment in the Swipe Series, Storm . Erin Arbitor has contracted the Trumpet Virus and only the scientist who created it has the potential to save her. Will she find the cure before DOME captures them all? And what about Lily Langly? Logan’s sister and top IMP for the Global Union. Is she friend or foe? And then there’s the Weather Mill and General Lamson’s plan, not to mention the tension between the General and Chancellor Cylis. Will the Global Union fall when it’s barely begun?
Storm is a wild roller coaster ride of a story, filled with twists and turns and loops that will have your stomach dropping (in a good way) until the very last page.
Why I liked it…
Evan Angler’s style of writing is very unique. Not only does he immerse himself as a background character in his books, but he actually makes it believable. From page one he gets his readers on edge, fully immersed in the time and place of the storyline. He made me feel like a member of the Dust, forgetting where I was for just a moment.
I also enjoy his short, sectional chapters. Evan divides them up numerically, with each point of view character holding the microphone for a minute and then passing it on just when you think you’re getting to the good stuff. A writer with the ability to whet your appetite, always leaving you wanting more, Evan Angler knows what makes a good novel.
With even more surprises than book two,Storm had me saying “No way!” more than a few times. This has to be one of my favorite series of the past year. Honestly, I am already picturing what it would look like as a movie.
Recommendation…
If you haven’t read Swipe or Sneak yet, here’s your chance to read all three without having to wait for the next one to come out. Storm is an excellent read, whether you’re a middle grader, teen, or a grown up, like me, who just loves a good story. Go back and read the others, then get ready for Storm. It’s a ride you won’t want to miss!
You can read my other reviews of Swipe and Sneak if you’d like to learn a little more about the books leading up to Storm. Also, don’t forget to check out my Worth Reading page for more book reviews and giveaways. I update it weekly, so there’s always something new!
