I always enjoy seeing the story from two different viewpoints which, is Denise Hunter’s classic style. I like seeing how the two main characters misunderstand each other in the beginning and then eventually fall in love. Her writing is clear, descriptive, and speaks to the heart. I always end up being pulled into her romances, and Barefoot Summer is no different.
I don’t know about you, but my kids just don’t like to stay in bed. My one year old spends about an hour in her crib per night (maybe) before she comes into bed with us, and my five year old doesn’t like to be in her room by herself so she usually ends up in our room as well. Getting kids to go to bed and stay there all night can be a challenge.
I just love the new Little Blessings book from Tyndale, Bedtime Stories and Prayers. The sweet illustrations and lulling rhymes are just what we need to get back into reading stories at night. My youngest is coming up on her first birthday soon, and I am so excited to give this book to her as a gift.
The Promise Box is the much anticipated second book in Tricia Goyer’s Seven Brides for Seven Bachelors series. Entitled after the most prized possession of Lydia’s Mem, a box full of notes, letters, and thoughts all pointing to God’s promises, this book really hit close to home for me.
